User Privacy The Intelligence Network (IntellNet) collects minimal information on the viewers who visit the website. Information gathered is used only for demographic information. Through the use of cgi-scripts IntellNet collects the hostname and Internet Protocol (IP) address of the viewers, which websites the viewer is coming from to get to IntellNet and at what times of the day the viewer is visiting the website. This helps us analyze the effectiveness of advertising on other websites. However, we make no attempts to link this information with the actual identities or personal information such as name, address, telephone number, social security number, credit history, or usage of the internet. Additionally we do not associate with, advertise on or accept advertisements from companies or third party websites who do link the identities of its viewers with the anonymous information collected. The only association IntellNet has with websites that do link users identities with anonymous information is the collection and dissemination of documents, news articles and mailing lists. Any advertising that IntellNet engages in will be without the collection of user information and without the linking of information to user identity. Mailing List In addition to the anonymous information collected, users who sign up for the Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) mailling list are required to submit their email address. Those email addresses are viewable only by the moderator of the list and the addresses are never given, sold, traded or transmitted in anyway to any third parties for any reason outside of federal subpoena. The security surrounding the email addresses associated with the OSINT mailing list, outside of options set by the moderator to not allow anyone to view the email addresses, is the responsibility of eGroups, which is the hosting service for the mailing list. Third party websites The Intelligence Network (IntellNet) regularly gathers news from news websites providing easy access to such information to visitors. Credit is given to such websites such that the credit is in direct relation physically to the information extracted from the said website. Furthermore, IntellNet provides easy access to search engines belonging to other sites within the confines of the IntellNet website, again with credit given no more than 2 blank lines away from the search fields and the results of the searching. |
